December 27, 1999 - Jodie Koh Meng Sian (MGS, ACJC), 24 years old, studied in the Arts Faculty in the National University of Singapore from 1994 to 1998.

She then joined TheatreWorks as a Production Manager from 1998 to 1999. She is a Christian and has been attending Wesley Methodist Church for the past 9 years. She has served in the Methodist Youth Fellowship as a Vice-President for a number of years. She has been involved in the Mid Week Prayer Service and Dance Ministry for the last few years. She is the youngest in a family of 5. She has an older brother, Koh Teck Hua, sister, Kathrynn Koh, and her parents, Mr & Mrs Koh. Her boyfriend, Loh Kar Wai Wesley, is organising blood, platelets donation, email and webpage updates.

Jodie was warded on December 27, 1999 to Singapore General Hospital for a check-up on her blood sample. Her family doctor sent her down to the hospital after a check-up on the same day. That night, the doctors informed her that she had acute leukemia. The next day, the doctors classified this form of leukemia as an M1 type and she underwent chemotherapy soon after. As the veins in her arms were too small, a catheter had to be inserted into a vein near the lungs for the chemotherapy drugs to enter her system.
