I suppose all of us had to have a way of dealing with this trying time. I wrote in my journal a lot of thoughts and fears. For Kar Wai, photography was his way of dealing with my illness. Getting behind his leica and documenting what we prayed would eventually turn out to be a story of God's saving grace.

I won't talk of the pain or the suffering that was endured. I know that I have had it a lot better than most people I met in the wards. Watching other patients has humbled me a great deal these last 2 years.
